Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Narrow Aisle and Wide Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whereas Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are several aisle widths to consider with different units.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks work in less than 6 feet places and normally use certain guidance systems such as wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks consist of Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular kinds in compact retail areas and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up units like for example Reach Trucks. They are commonly used within warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very large and has an 8" low step height that helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat along with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more effective while limiting exhaustion.
