The Carriage
Like conventional forklifts, the lifting attachment can be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual possible amount of tilt completely exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There is a huge range of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers are capable of tilting forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! Furthermore, a lot of units offer rotating carriages also. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things such as: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays an important role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Normally, telehandlers have several load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can determine the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the unit in particular, the load capacity can differ by thousands of pounds all together.
